Small-group minibuses, built around your day
Planned vehicles, seating layouts and livery design that put Care, Comfort and Connection at the centre of every Kytrix journey.
Designed for calm, comfortable small-group travel
We're building a small, focused fleet around one idea: it should feel easy to get on, settle in and enjoy the journey – from school trips and family days out to airport runs and community events.
At launch, our aim is to operate executive-style minibuses with around 16 seats plus driver, planned around Care, Comfort and Connection. That means low-step entry where possible, clear aisles, tidy interiors and realistic timings around Isle of Wight ferries.
As we grow, we intend to introduce more flexible and accessibility-focused options, while keeping the same small-group feel and Island-first planning that Kytrix is built on.
The fleet we're working towards
Here's how we think about our core minibus types – and the role each one plays in keeping your day calm and organised.
Up to 16 passenger seats + driver
Individual high-back seats in 2+1 and 2+2 layouts, with good legroom and clear central aisle.
Accessibility
- Low-step entry with handrails at the door.
- Clearly marked priority seats near the front.
- Space to store folding wheelchairs and mobility aids.
Comfort
- Executive-style high-back seating with headrests.
- USB charging points and interior lighting where fitted.
- Heating and ventilation managed with passenger comfort in mind.
Flexible layout with dedicated wheelchair space(s)
Configurable seating to balance standard seats and wheelchair positions, depending on the group.
Accessibility
- Aim for lift or ramp access for wheelchair users.
- Space designed for secure wheelchair tie-downs.
- Clear communication before booking on what the vehicle can safely accommodate.
Comfort
- Thoughtful lighting and space to manoeuvre devices where feasible.
- Careful route and stop planning to reduce boarding stress.
- Drivers trained to support boarding safely, within what is legally and physically possible.
Smaller seat count, used flexibly
Compact minibus or MPV used for shuttles, support roles and smaller group movements.
Accessibility
- Used alongside main vehicles to reduce walking distances where achievable.
- Clear information on step height and suitability for your group.
- Coordinated pickup and drop-off plans to keep the group together.
Comfort
- Shorter hops planned with realistic timings.
- Used to reduce over-crowding on main services where possible.
- Same tone of care and communication as the primary fleet.
Space to breathe, move and actually talk
We're not trying to squeeze every possible seat into the vehicle. We're aiming for layouts where people can move safely, keep bags nearby and still feel like they're on a day out, not a commute.
Our planned launch minibuses are expected to offer around 16 passenger seats in a mix of 2+1 and 2+2 layouts. The goal is a clear central aisle, good legroom and easy access to doors and priority seats.
- High-back seats with headrests and supportive cushions.
- Priority seating close to the front for those who need it.
- Space to keep small bags, coats and essentials nearby.
- Clear gangway to make boarding and disembarking easier.
Different trips need different storage: pushchairs, cool boxes, suitcases, sports kit or banners for a community event. We plan trips with this in mind rather than leaving it to the last minute.
- Clear guidance when booking on how much luggage the vehicle can safely carry.
- Use of rear luggage area and under-seat space where appropriate.
- Advice on whether an additional support vehicle is sensible for your group.
- Secure storage focus around emergency exits and safe evacuation routes.
Making it easier to say yes to the trip
We won't pretend we can meet every need from day one, but we can promise honesty, clear information and a plan to do better over time.
- Ask about mobility, wheelchair use, anxiety and other needs during enquiry and booking – not as an afterthought.
- Explain, in plain language, what each vehicle can and cannot safely accommodate.
- Design future accessible vehicles around secure wheelchair spaces and easier boarding where feasible.
- Train drivers to offer help where safe and appropriate, while respecting passenger dignity and independence.
- Vehicles prepared before pickup so you're not boarding into yesterday's trip.
- Temperature managed sensibly, taking feedback from passengers en route.
- Calm driving style and planned rest stops to keep everyone feeling settled.
- Clear, friendly communication from the driver about timings, stops and any changes.
