Welcome to Kytrix Travel
Hi! I'm Dan — founder, driver, and Managing Director. We're building Kytrix Travel, a warm, trustworthy small-group travel service based on the Isle of Wight, designed for families, friends, and community groups heading to the mainland or exploring closer to home.
At the heart of everything is:
- Care. People first, always — helpful drivers, thoughtful touches, and honest communication.
- Comfort. Executive-style seating, climate control, and calm journeys that start your day right.
- Connection. We bring people, places, and moments together — turning a ride into a memory.
Or, how we like to frame it: Care • Comfort • Connection.
What we’re building
We’re pairing real hospitality with smart, unobtrusive tech so booking feels simple and travel feels looked after:
- Easy, transparent booking — clear pricing and no hidden extras.
- Live seat availability (once we’re live) so you can see what’s left before you book.
- Cashless payments, reminders and travel-day info in your inbox.
- Local know-how — ferry timings, best routes, and those little Isle of Wight shortcuts that save time and stress.
You’ll see this across:
- Trips & transfers for families and friends.
- Groups & private hire for schools, clubs, weddings and workplaces.
- Community & membership, where local families help shape what we run.
Where we’ll take you
We’re starting with the trips Island families ask for most:
- Mainland day trips — theme parks, zoos, seaside towns, Christmas lights and markets.
- Airport & cruise transfers — Southampton, Portsmouth, Heathrow, Gatwick and more.
- Custom group travel — schools, youth groups, clubs, wedding parties, family celebrations.
If you’ve got 6–16 people and a plan (or just a rough idea), we’ll help shape it into a day that actually works.
Safety & compliance
(the boring bit we take very seriously)
Behind the scenes we’re building around DVSA best practice, daily walkaround checks, and a training-first culture.
I’m personally working through my PSV Transport Manager CPC so we can keep standards high, vehicles safe, and decisions sensible. You focus on the fun; we’ll handle the legal and paperwork side.
When are we launching?
We’re in build & test through late 2025 and early 2026, with a view to opening bookings for Spring 2026.
If you’d like to be first in the queue when trips, dates and airport runs go live:
- Join the Insider Circle for early updates and early-bird offers.
- Share your route ideas so we know which trips and pickup points actually matter to your family.
Membership, gift cards and pay-it-forward
Alongside standard bookings, we’re building a small set of ways to support Kytrix early and make trips more accessible:
- Founding Families Club — a limited number of families who back us early and get long-term perks and priority.
- Digital gift cards & pay-it-forward — for treating your own family or quietly funding a trip for someone else.
You’ll find these in the Community & Membership area of the site as they roll out.
Meet the founder
I’m Daniel Bimson, Isle of Wight based, ferry-seasoned, and mildly obsessed with comfortable seats and good journeys. I started Kytrix Travel to make group travel feel easy, friendly and dependable — the way you wish it always was.
I know what it’s like when travel is stressful, expensive, or just not set up with real families in mind. Kytrix is my way of fixing a little bit of that for the Island.
How you can help
Right now, the most useful things you can do are:
- Vote on routes — tell us which day trips, pickup points, and airport runs you’d actually use.
- Join the Insider Circle — so we can email you when key milestones, trips and launch dates are ready.
- Share Kytrix Travel with a friend who plans everything three months early. (We absolutely build this for people like them.)
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you quote for my group now?
For trips in Spring 2026 or later, maybe — contact us and we’ll scope out options together. For anything earlier, we’ll be honest about what is and isn’t possible.
How many seats?
Our first vehicle will have 16 executive-style seats with generous legroom and luggage space. Future vehicles will follow the same “small-group, high-comfort” approach.
Do you do pickups on the mainland?
Yes. We’re Isle of Wight based, but we can pick up or drop off on the mainland for airport runs, attractions and events, as long as it fits around ferries and driving hours.
What about schools and youth groups?
Absolutely. We’re building enhanced safety protocols, DBS-checked drivers, clear risk-assessment templates and sensible group rates for educational trips and youth organisations.
Thanks for being here at the beginning. We can’t wait to welcome you — and your favourite people — on board.
— Dan @ Kytrix Travel
